Seven classic stories and fables from the Brothers Grimm, H.C. Andersen and Aesop get tweaked and updated in this free-wheeling adaptation. Influenced by the Chicago-style of improv and story-telling, the all-female cast puts these stories through the wringer to explore not only the tried and true morals of the stories, but the quirky backstories that lurk beneath the surface.

The 2010-2011 editiion of Fractured... starts off with JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, moves through THE MILKMAID AND HER PAIL, shows the unbridled greed of THE FISHERMAN AND HIS WIFE, allows your kids to root for the under...er...'turtle' in THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE, lets two smart swindlers take advantage of massive ego in THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES, shows that a little caution goes a long way in HENNY PENNY, and closes with a smart rendition of THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA.

This is a great all-ages show, good for fun school assemblies and very popular with libraries and civic centers looking for all-family shows.

Fractured Fairy Tales is available year-round, and also available as a "field trip show" at the Enchanted Castle in Lombard. To make a booking for your group for one of those performances, follow this link to the Cinema Academy site and book online!
