The International Science Hall of Fame is having an election to select the most important invention or discovery of all time, and a special panel is on hand to make their cases for individual achievements. To do this, they'll demonstrate for the electors - your students - just how and why each of these important concepts works, and present evidence for the ways that they've revolutionized the world.

On hand will be proponents of The Wheel, Archimedes' screw, Newton's laws of gravity and motion. Edison's light bulb, the radio, Gutenberg's printing press, the steam engine, and the semiconductor, among others. In each case. the presenter will show what the world was like before the invention or discovery and how the world was utterly changed in its wake.

This show is designed to work with your social studies/science curriculum, and will include subtle but clear connections between the success of individual inventors and scientists and the Scientific method. As Edison said, good inventing is 2% inspiration, 98% perspiration.
